Jason's Story

My wife Debbie and I had lots of exciting plans for 2022 until February 2nd when we heard those devastating words ‘you have breast cancer’.

Our first thoughts and feelings were of dread and fear, not knowing what to expect over the coming weeks and where this new chapter of our lives would take us. Fast forward two months and we find ourselves in a much better place. The breast cancer team at Ipswich Hospital have been, and continue to be amazing, and the love and offers of support shown by organisations such as Cancer Campaign in Suffolk have been incredibly comforting.

Debbie’s treatment is progressing well and we are optimistic for the future. In appreciation of their wonderful work I plan to complete a 24 hour litter pick across Ipswich, and the surrounding area, in the hope of raising £250 for CCiS as well as raising awareness about the issue of littering and plastic pollution in our environment. I hope to be joined by volunteers throughout the 24 hours so if you are up for the challenge get in touch on 07834 375917 (Join me for as long as you like). I’ll be finalising and sharing the route and timings soon but in the meantime here’s the date, ti me andstart/finish location for your diary
